Social Media Administrator Wanted!

The Social Media Administrator will play a pivotal role in expanding The Open Door Foundation’s (ODF) online presence and outreach on relevant social media platforms. This is a voluntary position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our mission.

 

Role Objectives

  • To maintain existing social media channels including the NGO’s website, Facebook, LinkedIn and any other platform the Admin finds appropriate to reach our audience

  • To be the social media eyes and ears for ODF, identifying opportunities for management to act upon

  • To assist in capturing the essence of ODF’s programs in order to communicate effectively to the online audience

 

Role Definition and responsibilities: This is a part-time, Work from Home volunteer position.

 

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and implement a social media content calendar to promote ODF’s initiatives, events, and campaigns.

  • Create engaging and shareable content for various social media platforms, including ODF’s website, Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms as the admin may recommend.

  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media platforms.

  • Track and report on social media performance using analytics tools.

  • Collaborate with team members to align social media efforts with the organization's goals.

 

Content Creation:

  • Generate compelling and informative content, including articles, blog posts, and visuals, to highlight ODF’s impact and activities.

  • Coordinate with team members and beneficiaries to gather stories, photos, and videos for content creation.  

  • Visit the Child Care Homes from time to time to get first-hand information on programs administered and impact delivered. 

  • Ensure that all content is aligned with the ODF’s mission and values.

 

Community Engagement:

  • Foster a sense of community and engagement among ODF supporters and followers on social media.

  • Encourage user-generated content and participation in online campaigns and initiatives.

Research and Trends:  

  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms.

  • Conduct research on relevant topics and issues related to ODF’s work to inform content creation and social media strategies.

 

Person Profile: The person playing this role should have professional-grade experience of social media management, be a prolific written communicator and be committed to ODF’s cause; a people’s person.  The successful candidate will be self-motivated and exhibit the highest level of responsibility in executing his/her role.

 

Commitment: Though this is a volunteering role, it require regular and frequent involvement for ODF’s social media presence to make a meaningful impact.  The person is expected to be in communication with the ODF management council weekly and provide a monthly report to them.
